New Member of Our Animal Care Family

By admin on July 2nd, 2009

When I took the helm at The HSUS about five years ago, I looked at the landscape of animal protection and thought that the movement’s resources were spread too thin among too many groups. I thought we needed to consolidate some of these operations, to squeeze out inefficiencies, and to redirect the savings into new capacity, in order to achieve greater effectiveness. Since that time, we’ve combined operations with The Fund for Animals, the Doris Day Animal League, and the Association of Veterina

Best Ways To Improve Your Guitar Playing

By admin on July 2nd, 2009

How do you groove? Why do you want to improve?

There are many resources available to help you whether you are just beginning to play acoustic electric guitar, you want to expand your repertoire to include blues, funk or rock and roll music, or you just want to learn a few licks of your favorite song or even if you want to record yourself regardless of your intentions you can find help.

If you need help in better understanding your guitar playing, then here some ideas you can consider.

Guitar videos
Buy a acoustic electric guitar lesson on video for either at on your DVD player or on computer that will include hand position, how to strum properly, rhythm and timing, finder exercises that go through various songs. Essentially these become a mirror for you in learning to play as you mimic what you're watching on screen and then reproduce this on your own. If you are a visual learner who likes to learn on their own, then this is the way to go but it takes determination and commitment.

Guitar lessons
Community colleges in your area have electric guitar tutors or you can find a private instructor to work with you. You'll want to consider their expertise, the type of students they work best with, their flexibility with your schedule, success stories, and of course their fees, in considering working with them. In pursing guitar lessons, you can either do one on one or group - both have their pluses and minuses but either can work for you.

Playing with partners
Find someone in your local community who plays. You can do this through asking the local community college, posting online to a resource like craigslist, or asking the guitar shop. it is important to build a relationship with a player who is better then you who also desires to be accountable in practicing weekly. What you can provide is the commitment to meet up with them weekly and practice. You can learn from their methods and techniques in return to find what works for you. Of course, you always need to be aware of learning bad habits in situations like these, which is why it's important to have a foundation in guitar technique before starting.

Guitar theory
Related to guitar technique is developing a basis in guitar theory. Chord patterns, minor and major chord progressions, note scales, and overlap with piano and percussion instruments can all give you a basic structure upon which to layer in the knowledge and technique you gain in your guitar playing.

A wonderful expression of your creative talent and musical ability is playing guitar. And with a commitment to constant improvement, it can provide a lifetime of enjoyment for yourself, friends, and family.

Beat Machine Downloads Get More For Less

By admin on July 1st, 2009

I don't know about you but I'm not too crazy about those cheesy free beat machine downloads they have sprinkled all over the internet. You do know that they aren't free. These are free demo's. Yes that's right you can demo them for free but if you want to own them then you have to pay for a license.

Most call this type of software shareware or freeware. If this is a new term to you it is generally referring to a trial period and a limited use. What this means is that you won't get full use of the software. Most of these freeware or shareware downloads do not allow you save your music.

The vast majority of these types of software are very expensive too. Some of this software seems fairly difficult to use. I like things that are priced reasonably and are easy enough to use right out of the box so to speak.

I found this great little beat machine that has mp3 export capability and features tutorials that not only teach you how to use the beat machine but also how to use it with different instruments. They have a great site and yes they too have a free trial and their very own beat machine downloads. You can use these on PC's, Mac's as well as other platforms. You can ask their online staff any questions or concerns. Very cool. So easy to use even a 7 year old can do it. You would be surprized very surprized at how affordable and feature packed this software is.

Beat machines are pretty popular right now whether it be for rap or R&B everyone wants one. It would be advisable to select the right software. If you try the different brands online you'll surely find the right one. But if you can't wait and don't want to go to all the different sites then try this link for a some really good beat machine downloads

Famous composers and players from the classical era

By admin on June 30th, 2009

Here are details on three of the greatest piano players/composers known to grace the keys.

Ludwig Van Beethoven. Famous more for the fact he composed, Beethoven wrote and performed music while being deaf in his later 20s with the use of a sound rod to feel the vibrations. Beethoven was born in December 1770, his grandfather with the same name and his father both had worked in the court of the Elector of Cologne, as later he did. Beethoven moved to Vienna to study counterpoint and violin in 1792, a move that was funded by the Elector. Beethoven started to loss his hearing in 1796 in his twenties, which has been speculated to be the result of lead posioning, due to its high volume of use. His work has been divided into three sections -early,middle and late periods. The early period lasted until 1806, the middle period went from 1803 to 1814 and the later period went from 1815 until his death.

Wolfgang Mozart. Mozart was born in 1756 and composed over six hundred pieces and is reguarded as one of the best composers of classical music. A child prodigy, Mozart performed to royalty and composed music from as early as five years old. He was even employed as a court musician in Sazlburg from the age of 17. Mozart visisted Vienna on his travels and decided not to leave, and he made his name in the city, but not riches. Mozart died on December 1791, of what is believed to be rhuematic fever, and rumor goes that he dictatced the rest of his final piece from his deathbed.

Bach. Born in 1865 in Germany, Bach helped to mature the classical subgenre of Baroque, being hugely influential on the genre. During his life he was more famous for being an organist rather than a composer, for which he was only rediscovered in the 19th century and now considered to be one of the best composers of all time. When Bach was orphaned at 10 years of age we was shipped off to live with his brother, an organist. It is from his brother that Bach received more instruction on playing, and became fluent on the Clavicord. Two of his children from his first marriage helped to shape the classical music style of Rococo -Carl and Wilhem. He was hired by Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cöthen as his court's director of music, during this time Bach lost his wife in 1720 and remarried a year later. In 1723, Bach was appointed Cantor of Thomasschule, a posistion he held until his death in 1750.

Nokia - Free Download

First of all, music downloads are extremely compacted audio files transmitted onto your PC from an Internet-based website or P2P (peer to peer) program. It’s possible to gain access to limitless music downloads wherever you wish with an internet connection along with media file players like Real One Player, Windows Media Player, etc.

iTunes is a digital media player appliance, started by Apple on the month of January 10, 2001 at the Macworld Expo that took place in San Francisco, for transmitting and arranging digital music and video files.

These days, iTunes and other legitimate places that allow download of free music flourish and earn a lot from selling first-rate, quite reasonably priced downloads. iPod downloads are an awesome way to fill up your iPod with indefinite music without the sheer costs usually associated with purchasing music at the music store.

Loads of Internet-based sites can charge as much as $1.00 per music that is downloaded. Read more about the iPhone (and how they don't mix with fizzy drinks!) for the Directory Phone News Blog.

Music downloads recognized by the law characteristically encompass the buying of a musical track or album obtainable for downloading online.

Rhapsody is perhaps one of the innovators in the digital music business; actually, it is one of the first unique websites to proffer unrestricted music downloads.

By making use of your Internet connected PC nowadays you can discover lots of special music that you can download; both straight from the net to purchasing subscriptions, being a member of clubs, as well as even renting, from the ease of your office or home.

For gadgets to listen to your downloads visit the Technology and Gadgets Blog.

In the end, be warned that there are a lot of folks who are benefiting from naive visitors to their music download websites, that they give you a free of charge mp3 download, although in exchange they place a gigantic bug in your PC; so make sure you get a sophisticated download software to steer clear of such avoidable dilemma.
